U.S., U.N. send more troops to help HaitiPORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti - U.S. troops landed on the lawn of Haiti's shattered presidential palace Tuesday to the cheers of quake victims and the U.N. said it would throw more police and soldiers into the global effort to aid the devastated country. Meanwhile, the U.S. State Department told NBC News that several thousand Americans could still be trapped in the rubble or missing after last week's devastating temblor.
